The Victorian Assisted Living and Retirement Center is a great place to work. We offer a comprehensive training program and we only employ the very best candidates. This training has been key to The Victorian Assisted Living’s ability to provide great care for our residents. Staff training is the highest priority for The Victorian and we comply with all state laws and regulation requirements.
We employ Certified Caregivers, Dietary, and Housekeeping workers. All our certified caregivers and associated staff must complete an extensive training program. Prior to starting work at The Victorian Assisted Living and Retirement Center, all employees receive basic orientation training to acclimate them to the specific needs of our residents. They also complete an Elder Abuse Prevention course before they begin their employment.
All The Victorian Assisted Living and Retirement Center staff have TB Tests prior to starting work and annually thereafter. They are also drug tested before employment begins, as well as at regular intervals during employment with The Victorian.
We carry out an FBI Background Check prior to employment, to protect our residents and other members of staff.
A CPR & First Aid course must be completed within 30 days of the hire date with regular retraining every two years.
All new caregivers receive in-depth training before they start work. This includes shadowing more experienced staff, training DVD’s, and role-play testing with a trainer.
Other Compulsory Training Courses
- Med Tech Training is a 16-hour training initial course prior to starting, with 8-hour retraining required annually thereafter.
